In June 2025, MEF Forum became Mplify Alliance. Our new identity reflects the reach, momentum, and purpose of our global alliance. Mplify continues MEF’s legacy while amplifying its impact.
Mplify is a global alliance of enterprises, service providers, cloud and technology providers, data centers, and systems integrators collaborating to accelerate the AI-powered digital economy. Through standardization, automation, certification, and community-led innovation, we are empowering secure, scalable, and trusted services that drive Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) adoption across a global ecosystem.
Mplify Alliance is a US registered 501c (6), not-profit organization.
To amplify global network and service innovation, interoperability, and resilience through collaboration, standardization, automation, and certification.
To connect and empower the world.
The evolution to Mplify initiates a new era of impact, scale, and openness.
“Mplify” captures the essence of our collective mission: to amplify capabilities, multiply reach, and accelerate progress through shared innovation.

Mplify is laying the foundation for next-generation AI workloads by enabling secure, high-performance, and scalable NaaS infrastructures. Key initiatives include wavelength-based GenAI training, agentic AI enablement, GPU-as-a-Service, AI Model-as-a-Service, and Edge AI Connectivity-as-a-Service.
This work supports an open, interoperable ecosystem where AI-powered services can be delivered with predictable performance, trust, and automation. Mplify is also advancing standardization for AI-optimized networking to help enterprises and providers rapidly scale intelligent applications across multi-cloud and edge environments.
Mplify is accelerating global adoption of business, operational, and network LSO APIs to automate and scale NaaS delivery. We’re enabling lifecycle service management across partner ecosystems with 20+ API-defined functions and support for a growing portfolio of payloads, such as CAMARA QoD, wavelength, cloud interconnect, AI clouds, SD-WAN, and data center cross connect.
Key initiatives include LSO API certification, support for NaaS supply chains, enterprise APIs, new LSO API tools, and cross-industry collaboration with TM Forum, ITW GLF, and GSMA.
Mplify is advancing the security component of NaaS through expanded SASE certification and automation. We’re validating secure solutions that include SD-WAN, Secure Service Edge (SSE), and Zero Trust across three phases: service provider inheritance, service provider-level testing, and integrated solution testing.
Looking ahead, Mplify will incorporate AI-driven cybersecurity into the certification framework and enable LSO-based delivery of SD-WAN, SSE, and SASE services across partner networks.
Carrier Ethernet is a foundational technology upon which Mplify is built. As MEF’s most influential contribution to the industry, Carrier Ethernet established a global market for high-performance, standardized, and increasingly on-demand connectivity.
MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet (MEF 3.0 CE) certified services are future-proof and remain core to the modern digital infrastructure. As networks evolve, this widely deployed capability will be instrumental in supporting emerging requirements such as AI readiness, cybersecurity integration, and cloud-based service delivery—all essential for the NaaS models of the future.
MEF 3.0 services present ongoing revenue opportunities for Mplify members. By building on their existing Carrier Ethernet investments, members can open new revenue streams, accelerate service velocity, and maintain a competitive edge in a rapidly transforming digital economy. Networks based on CE 2.0 can upgrade to MEF 3.0 to take fully realized this potential.
More than 500 service providers worldwide have delivered Carrier Ethernet services based on Mplify standards, including 140+ MEF certified and nearly 70 automation-ready under MEF 3.0, establishing a robust foundation for interoperable, scalable, and secure NaaS.
Mplify addresses critical network automation challenges with its Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) APIs, which span business, operational, and network layers to enable easy integration, extensibility, and cross-partner interoperability. These standardized interfaces streamline the digital supply chain, helping service providers and enterprises scale deployments efficiently across complex, multi-party environments.
LSO APIs combine product- and service-specific payloads—such as Carrier Ethernet, Internet Access, Layer 2 over Broadband, SD-WAN, wavelength, and AI infrastructure services—with technology-agnostic envelopes that handle common functions like address validation, quoting, ordering, and performance management. When pre-certified, Mplify’s LSO APIs significantly reduce integration complexity and onboarding effort—supporting scalability, faster time to revenue, and broader adoption across the NaaS ecosystem.
Released on a six-month cycle, Mplify’s LSO APIs are supported by a robust suite of tools and resources—including the LSO Marketplace, developer community, certification programs, onboarding toolkits, and research-based implementation reports—designed to accelerate industry uptake and enable commercial interoperability at scale.
More than 165 leading service providers and enterprises are engaged in the LSO API adoption lifecycle—from initial interest through to certification and implementation. Over 90 organizations are in active stages from commitment through to production, gaining a competitive advantage through advanced business and operational process automation.
As cyber threats increase in volume and sophistication, organizations need standards-based and certified cybersecurity to protect the digital economy. Enterprises face inconsistent policies, fragmented controls, and limited threat visibility across hybrid, multi-vendor environments.
To meet these challenges, service providers must go beyond connectivity. They are expected to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing digital services that enterprises can trust.
Mplify has led the industry in standardizing and certifying Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) encompassing SD-WAN, Security Service Edge (SSE), and Zero Trust (ZT). These services provide consistent application performance, strong security, and policy enforcement across cloud, edge, and hybrid environments.
SASE certification plays a critical role in enabling the industry’s shift toward NaaS. As enterprises adopt dynamic, policy-driven services, certified SASE solutions offer the assurance required for secure, on-demand connectivity across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Mplify’s work converges to establish its leadership in NaaS, a modular architecture built on standardized, certified service components and delivered through a plug-and-play, API-enabled ecosystem. NaaS spans four key domains: on-demand connectivity, application assurance, cybersecurity, and multi-cloud networking, enabling programmable, intelligent services that drive enterprise innovation and support the AI-powered digital economy.
We have played a central role in aligning the industry around modern NaaS—driving collaboration across stakeholders, standardizing key components, and advancing ecosystem-wide automation. This leadership includes publishing a NaaS Industry Blueprint and NaaS Customer Experience White Paper, hosting the annual Global NaaS Event (GNE), and expanding its collaborative model to engage enterprises, cloud providers, data center operators, and systems integrators.
